Current – April 2025

FDT have applied for a Section75 from Moray Council relating to Developers contibution.  This should enable planning to be awarded by June 2025.  In the meantime FDT are planning to go out to tender to gauge interest and get a budget cost for the project.

Previously – September 2024

FDT applied in April 2024 for Planning Permission for 12 houses in the Brockloch site.  Details can be found on the Moray Council Planning Portal here under application no 24/00528/APP.

The Finderne Development Trust (FDT) has purchased the field in Upper Rafford, opposite the Village Hall, in order to develop an affordable housing project.

The land was purchased with a grant from the Scottish Land Fund, and the current plans are for up to 12 affordable houses, and other facilities.

As a result of concerns raised at the October 2022 FCC meeting, the members of the FCC met with FDT directors on 14th November in order to seek answers to a number of questions about the project. The minutes of this meeting can be found here Minutes of FDT – FCC Meeting 14-Nov-22

The following weekend the FDT held a drop-in event at Rafford Village Hall to update the community on the current plans for the Brochloch development.  This link:  FDT Brochloch webpage includes information on:

  • The presentation boards showing development process and current plans
  • The allocation policy
  • Responses to questions asked at the event
