With the trend in worsening weather, including winter wind and snow storms, summer flooding and the subsequent power outages and road closures, Finderne Community Council are beginning to build a community resilience plan. The plan will focus around the village halls of Edinkillie and Rafford, which will form safe refuge centres for the vulnerable with independent generator power, providing heating, hot food, and shelter to anyone adversely affected by local disaster conditions.
We have been successful in our application to SSEN for funding for temporary generation, or power storage facilities for Rafford and Edinkillie Halls, so they can be used as a safe warm haven in cases of power outages,
