The Finderne CC are in the process of putting together a Resilience Plan for the area.
This is being designed to dovetail with wider area resilience plans. As Finderne has a wide geographic spread, our current focus is to define discreet localities and community members who will act a resilience focal points in each locality, in case of emergencies..
In the meantime we would like to draw attention to the Household Resilience booklet which is available on the Moray Council website here.
Previously . . . . . .
With the trend in worsening weather, including winter wind and snow storms, summer flooding and the subsequent power outages and road closures, Finderne Community Council are beginning to build a community resilience plan.
The Finderne Resilience plan will focus around the village halls of Edinkillie and Rafford, which will form safe refuge centres for the vulnerable with independent generator power, providing heating, hot food, and shelter to anyone adversely affected by local disaster conditions.
We have been successful in our application to SSEN for funding for temporary generation, or power storage facilities for Rafford and Edinkillie Halls, so they can be used as a safe warm haven in cases of power outages,
